New and emerging Irish filmmakers & composers invited to apply for a film-scoring workshop with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra

Following the success of previous film-scoring workshops the Irish Music Rights Organisation (IMRO) and the RTÉ Concert Orchestra in association with Filmbase, FÁS Screen Training Ireland and the Contemporary Music Centre plan to bring together the very best in emerging Irish filmmakers and music composers to work on a collaborative project. Irish filmmakers and composers are being given the opportunity to apply for up to four places on a one-day recording session in RTÉ studios in early 2009. At this session original scores created by the composers for the filmmakers will be performed and recorded by the RTÉ Concert Orchestra. By working together on creating an original score for the submitted film projects, this initiative will provide budding filmmakers and composers a valuable opportunity to enhance their skills with hands-on experience in a vital aspect of film post-production.
