Clay pot making and herbs - Heritage Week 2011 at Scariff Library

Heritage Week at Scariff Library

Scariff Public Library staff member Simon Large and artist Isabelle Gaborit recently celebrated Heritage Week 2011 with a culture rich craft afternoon at the library. Fifteen children attended a clay pot making session during which they were taught how to make clay pots in the style of those used in Ireland thousands of years ago. The event was a great success and the children were delighted with their resulting creations. Also as part of Heritage Week herbalist Vivienne Campbell shared her wealth of knowledge with an enthusiastic audience in a well attended hour long talk followed by a Q and A session at the library. Vivienne focused on the medicinal uses of common garden plants and weeds. Visit Vivienne’s website at www.theherbalhub.com
