Clare Musician to Receive Ellis Island Medal of Honour

Fiddle-player Séamus Connolly will be awarded the Ellis Island Medal of Honour on May 11th in recognition of his musical talent and his role as an educator and promoter of Irish traditional music in the United States. Séamus comes from a musical household in Killaloe and has won the Irish Fiddle Championship a record 10 times. He has lived in the Boston area since 1976 and is currently Director of the Irish Studies Music and Dance Programs at Boston College and of the Gaelic Roots Summer School and Festival.
