Patrick O'Brien, "The Limerick Piper" (1844)

Joseph Patrick Haverty (1794-1854) was an Irish figure painter, portraitist and illustrator from Co. Galway best known for his lithograph ‘The Limerick Piper’ which now hangs in the National Gallery of Ireland. The picture actually portrays Patrick O'Brien, a blind piper from a prosperous farming family in Labasheeda, County Clare.
