Local Art Exhibition in Kilrush Library

There was a large attendance at the opening of the Local Art Exhibition on Thursday 17th July 2014 in Kilrush Public Library. Several paintings were sold on the night. The collection consists of paintings in various media including acrylic, oil and watercolours. In addition, there are beautifully hand painted silk scarves in various colours and designs on display. The exhibition continues until Friday 22nd August. All are welcome.

Kilrush Art Group meets on Friday evening from 6-8pm.September- May. They have visiting tutors in different medium during the Year.
2014 March Anna St George who is a regular instructor to the group gave an informative work shop in Acrylics. Graham Booth water colourist from Northern Ireland introduced the group to Water Colour basics covering composition, tone, perspective, colour washes and edges. To start of their work this season the group are travelling to Castle Connell to the studio of Anna St George for a jump start to their year They will work in the medium of their choice mainly oil or Acrylic. Pauline Dunleavy proprietor of Anchor Crafts advises on tutors and social outings. New members are always welcome. Friday evenings, members try new techniques and generously share their knowledge and experience.
