"The world's first gay and lesbian matchmaking and music weekend, The Outing, was held on the first weekend of October this year in the small village of Lisdoonvarna in County Clare. This year's festival was extra special as on May 22, the Republic of Ireland made history as the first country in the world to recognize marriage equality by popular vote. The electorate voted YES to include a new clause about marriage in the Constitution: 'Marriage may be contracted in accordance with law by two persons without distinction as to their sex'. The Outing’s 2015 edition (2 – 4 October) as a result promised to be even bigger and better than before and it did not disappoint. Open to everyone, straight, the LGBT community, and their friends and families, the fantastic line up of Irish and international stars left everyone smiling."
